Vox9 hosts audiobooks published by independent authors. We respect copyright and we act on valid notices. If you own rights in a work and believe something on Vox9 infringes them, tell us using the form below and we will investigate.

1. Before you file

Two things are worth checking first, because they save everyone time:

• Do you actually hold the rights? You must be the copyright owner, or authorised to act for them. Filing on someone else's behalf without authority is not valid.
• Is it genuinely infringing? Quotation, review, commentary and parody may be permitted as fair use or fair dealing. A notice filed in bad faith can expose you to liability for damages and costs.

If a work is yours but you are happy for it to stay up under different terms, contact support@vox9.io instead. Many disputes are a misunderstanding between an author and a narrator, and are quicker to fix that way.

2. What a valid notice must contain

Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512) a notice must include all of the following. The form below collects each one:

• Your name, and a physical address at which you can be contacted.
• Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
• The specific URL on Vox9 of the material you want removed.
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the rights holder or the law.
• A statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act for the rights holder.
• Your electronic signature.

3. What happens next

• We acknowledge your notice by email.
• If the notice is valid, we remove or disable access to the material, usually within 2 working days.
• We notify the author, tell them what was removed and why, and pass on your notice.
• The author may file a counter-notice. If they do, we will send it to you. We may restore the material after 10 to 14 working days unless you tell us you have started court proceedings.
• Accounts that repeatedly infringe are terminated.

4. File a notice

Every field is required. Please give the exact episode or author URL rather than a search result or a screenshot.

The copyrighted work you own Title, where it was originally published, and a link to the original if there is one.

I have a good-faith belief that the use of the material described above is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

5. Counter-notice

If your work was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, email dmca@vox9.io with the removed material, why you believe it was removed in error, your name, address and phone number, and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the courts where you live. We will pass it to the person who filed the original notice.
